The purpose of this policy is to define Murzo Group’s approach to operating internationally in a lawful and controlled manner, clarify jurisdictional boundaries and responsibility allocation, reduce legal, regulatory, and reputational risk arising from cross-border activities, and preserve Murzo Group’s independence, integrity, and decision-making authority.
This policy supports Murzo Group’s broader legal, compliance, and risk-management framework.
2. Scope
This policy applies to:
- All Murzo Group international activities and engagements
- Cross-border projects, research, design, and service delivery
- Overseas partnerships, collaborations, and supply chains
- Digital, physical, and remote operations involving multiple jurisdictions
- Employees, contractors, consultants, and authorised representatives
The policy applies regardless of geographic location or mode of operation.
3. Legal Status & Jurisdictional Position
Murzo Group operates as a legally registered entity under the laws of the United Kingdom.
Unless expressly agreed in writing:
- Murzo Group acts solely on its own behalf
- Murzo Group does not act as agent, partner, or representative of third parties
- Murzo Group does not assume responsibility for the acts or omissions of affiliates, partners, or collaborators acting independently
International activities do not create joint liability, partnership, or agency relationships by implication.
4. Application of Laws
Murzo Group recognises that different jurisdictions apply different legal and regulatory frameworks and that local laws may govern local activities.
Murzo Group’s position is that applicable local laws must be respected where legally required, while Murzo Group’s internal standards, policies, and governance principles continue to apply to Murzo Group-controlled activities.
Where conflicts arise between jurisdictions, Murzo Group reserves the right to restrict, modify, suspend, or terminate activities.
Murzo Group does not guarantee compliance with all foreign legal regimes and does not provide legal advice to third parties.
5. Responsibility Allocation
Unless otherwise agreed in writing:
- Murzo Group is responsible only for its own actions and decisions
- Clients, partners, and counterparties are responsible for their own legal and regulatory compliance
- Third parties bear responsibility for compliance with their local laws, permits, licences, and approvals
Murzo Group is not liable for failures or breaches arising from third-party actions beyond Murzo Group’s reasonable control.
6. Cross-Border Risk Management
Murzo Group adopts a proportionate, risk-based approach to international operations, which may include preliminary jurisdictional assessment, contractual safeguards, controlled information sharing, and operational limitations or segmentation.
Murzo Group retains discretion over the level of due diligence undertaken and does not warrant the completeness of any risk assessment.
7. Data, Information & Technology Considerations
Cross-border operations may involve information sharing, data processing or access, and technology transfer or collaboration.
Such activities are governed by Murzo Group’s Information Classification & Handling policies, Data Protection and Privacy-by-Design policies, and Intellectual Property policies.
Murzo Group reserves the right to restrict access, localisation, or functionality by geography or jurisdiction.
8. Independence & Neutrality
Murzo Group operates independently and maintains commercial independence, political neutrality, and strategic autonomy.
International engagement does not imply alignment with foreign governments, political positions, or regulatory philosophies beyond legal necessity.
9. Right to Refuse, Suspend, or Withdraw
Murzo Group reserves the unrestricted right to decline international engagements, suspend ongoing activities, or withdraw from jurisdictions or projects where Murzo Group determines that legal, regulatory, ethical, security, or reputational risks are unacceptable.
Such decisions may be taken without explanation and without liability, subject to applicable law.
10. No Guarantee of Continuity or Access
Murzo Group does not guarantee continued availability of services across borders, uninterrupted access in all jurisdictions, or regulatory approval or acceptance.
Cross-border operations may be restricted or altered at any time.
11. Legal Position & Limitations
This policy does not create contractual, statutory, or fiduciary obligations, does not constitute legal or regulatory advice, does not guarantee compliance outcomes, and does not override applicable laws where they mandatorily apply.
Nothing in this policy excludes liability that cannot be lawfully excluded.
12. Review & Updates
This policy is reviewed periodically and may be updated to reflect changes in international operations, legal or regulatory developments, and strategic or risk considerations.
