Foreign Work, Business Travel, Visas & Posted Worker Policy

Version 1.0 · Last Updated:

1. Purpose

This policy sets out how Murzo Group manages overseas work, business travel, visas, posted worker rules, social security, health and safety, insurance, and local employment risk.

The purpose is to prevent unlawful work, immigration breaches, uninsured travel, unexpected payroll exposure, unsafe deployment, and accidental creation of local employment obligations.

2. Scope

This policy applies to directors, workers, contractors, consultants, secondees, interns, agents, and representatives travelling or working outside their usual country for Murzo Group activity.

It applies to meetings, sales, installation, inspection, farming activity, property visits, training, exhibitions, sourcing, design work, supplier audits, security-sensitive work, client delivery, and remote work from another country.

3. Travel and Work Authorisation

Murzo Group will distinguish between permitted business visits and actual work in a foreign country. Entry as a visitor does not automatically permit productive work, local service delivery, installation, supervision, paid activity, or long-term remote working.

Before travel or overseas work, Murzo Group should consider the destination's immigration, visa, posted worker, tax, social security, insurance, health and safety, and local labour rules.

4. Posted Workers and EU Activity

Where Murzo Group posts workers into an EU or EEA country, including Spain, the relevant posted worker, pay, notification, representative, working time, health and safety, and social security requirements must be checked before the work begins.

A1 certificates, social security certificates, or local payroll arrangements may be needed depending on the worker, country, duration, and nature of the activity.

5. Travel Risk Controls

  • Check passport, visa, entry, work permission, and local registration requirements
  • Check insurance for business travel, medical needs, equipment, driving, security, and high-value items
  • Check sanctions, corruption, personal safety, health, and emergency risks
  • Confirm whether specialist work permits, professional licences, or site inductions are needed
  • Avoid taking controlled technology, prototypes, product samples, cultural objects, chemicals, biological material, or restricted goods without clearance

6. Remote Work Abroad

Working remotely from another country can create tax, immigration, data protection, confidentiality, employment, insurance, permanent establishment, and local labour issues.

Murzo Group workers and contractors must not relocate work abroad or extend overseas working without approval.

7. Prohibited Conduct

  • Entering a country as a tourist while intending to perform work that requires permission
  • Ignoring local posted worker, employment, tax, or social security requirements
  • Taking controlled goods, sensitive data, prototypes, or client material abroad without approval
  • Working in a country subject to sanctions, serious security risk, or legal restriction without review
  • Using local contractors to bypass employment, immigration, tax, or safety duties

8. Evidence

Travel, visa, insurance, tax, posted worker, or safety evidence should be limited to what is required by law, contract, adviser instruction, emergency support, or legitimate operational need.

9. Review

This policy will be reviewed when Murzo Group begins regular activity in a new country, sends workers overseas for longer periods, or changes its travel, remote working, or overseas project model.
