Digital Consumer Protection, Pricing, Reviews & Checkout Compliance Policy

Version 1.0 · Last Updated:

1. Purpose

This policy sets out Murzo Group's approach to digital consumer protection, online pricing, checkout wording, reviews, promotions, affiliate activity, marketing approvals, political neutrality, and third-party marketing risk across all industries in which Murzo Group operates.

It is intended to protect Murzo Group from unauthorised marketing strategies, misleading third-party claims, unapproved commission activity, political association, platform misuse, and customer confusion while supporting lawful, honest, transparent, and clearly approved digital trading.

2. Scope

This policy applies to Murzo Group, its subsidiaries, workers, contractors, consultants, marketing agencies, brokers, affiliates, commission-based sellers, introducers, distributors, platform users, online store operators, marketplace users, social media account users, and any third party that promotes, lists, advertises, refers, introduces, or sells any Murzo Group product, service, brand, asset, property, design, food, fashion item, farming product, cultural object, security service, software, or other commercial activity.

It applies to websites, online shops, marketplace listings, social media posts, paid advertising, organic content, affiliate links, discount codes, influencer content, email marketing, SMS marketing, customer reviews, product ratings, online chat, landing pages, paid search, display advertising, videos, podcasts, marketplace shops, broker listings, and any other digital or remote selling channel.

3. Written Approval Requirement

No marketing strategy, sales tactic, campaign, advertisement, product claim, public offer, pricing method, review activity, affiliate arrangement, broker statement, political reference, endorsement, influencer content, discount campaign, or customer acquisition method may be treated as approved by Murzo Group unless it has been directly approved in writing by Murzo Group or by a person with written authority to approve that specific activity.

  • Verbal discussion, informal chat, past trading, silence, access to brand material, or receipt of commission does not amount to approval
  • Approval for one product, country, platform, campaign, wording, price, image, or time period does not create approval for any other use
  • Any person acting without written approval acts independently and is responsible for their own conduct, claims, costs, losses, complaints, penalties, tax, platform action, customer disputes, and legal exposure

4. Unauthorised Marketing Strategies and Tactics

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Murzo Group does not accept responsibility for marketing strategies, sales tactics, customer acquisition methods, promotional techniques, discount structures, urgency claims, scarcity claims, retargeting, lead generation, scripts, landing pages, automated funnels, review requests, referral schemes, affiliate campaigns, broker pitches, political messages, or third-party communications that have not been directly approved in writing by Murzo Group.

This includes any tactic that is misleading, aggressive, politically sensitive, discriminatory, unsafe, unlawful, spam-like, privacy-intrusive, unsuitable for children or vulnerable people, contrary to platform rules, contrary to advertising standards, or inconsistent with Murzo Group's values, brand, safety duties, or neutrality.

5. Political Neutrality

Murzo Group remains politically neutral in its commercial marketing unless a specific lawful corporate position is approved in writing. Murzo Group does not authorise third parties to use Murzo Group names, products, services, images, platforms, personnel, premises, assets, brands, customers, suppliers, farms, food products, fashion items, design work, property, security work, cultural objects, or trading relationships to support, oppose, promote, fund, attack, imply association with, or influence any political party, candidate, campaign, referendum, pressure group, state actor, public office holder, public policy position, or politically sensitive cause.

  • Murzo Group does not accept responsibility for political statements, political marketing, advocacy campaigns, lobbying claims, culture-war content, election-related activity, geopolitical commentary, or public policy messaging created by third parties without written approval
  • No third party may imply that Murzo Group endorses a political position because it trades in a country, supplies a customer, works with a public body, uses a platform, sells a product, or has a business relationship
  • Any approved public affairs, government, regulatory, or stakeholder communication must be accurate, lawful, proportionate, and separated from party-political campaigning

6. Third Parties, Contractors, Brokers and Agencies

Third-party marketers, contractors, consultants, brokers, introducers, agents, agencies, platform operators, marketplace sellers, fulfilment providers, affiliates, and commission-based sellers are independent from Murzo Group unless a written agreement states otherwise. They must not present themselves as directors, employees, authorised spokespeople, official representatives, partners, subsidiaries, or approved agents of Murzo Group unless this has been expressly approved in writing.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Murzo Group does not accept responsibility for the actions, omissions, claims, advice, pricing, promises, warranties, customer service, political statements, advertising choices, broker conduct, agency conduct, fulfilment conduct, platform conduct, or sales tactics of third parties acting outside written approval.

7. Affiliates and Commission-Based Sales

Affiliate marketers, referral partners, commission-based sellers, brokers, introducers, influencers, creators, and discount-code promoters must not make claims, promises, comparisons, testimonials, guarantees, health statements, safety statements, investment statements, environmental statements, political statements, urgency claims, scarcity claims, price claims, earnings claims, or product performance claims unless the exact wording has been approved in writing by Murzo Group.

  • Commission, referral fee, discount code access, sample receipt, product access, link access, or marketplace access does not make an affiliate or broker an employee, subsidiary, agent, or authorised spokesperson of Murzo Group
  • Affiliates and commission-based sellers are responsible for disclosing paid, gifted, incentivised, affiliate, commission, referral, or commercial relationships where required
  • Murzo Group may refuse commission, cancel links, reject sales, remove access, report misconduct, or require takedown where activity is misleading, unauthorised, unsafe, political, unlawful, or damaging to Murzo Group

8. Pricing, Fees and Checkout Transparency

Murzo Group-approved online sales channels should present pricing, delivery charges, VAT, duties, taxes, platform fees, compulsory charges, optional extras, payment steps, cancellation information, and order commitments clearly before a customer places an order. Checkout buttons and payment flows must not mislead customers about whether they are placing an order, paying, subscribing, reserving, applying, requesting a quote, or joining a waiting list.

Murzo Group does not accept responsibility for hidden fees, drip pricing, false discounts, unclear delivery charges, misleading price comparisons, unapproved subscription terms, pre-ticked optional extras, or checkout wording created by third parties, marketplaces, affiliates, brokers, contractors, platforms, agencies, or sellers without written approval.

9. Promotions, Discounts and Scarcity Claims

Promotions, discount codes, competitions, prize draws, giveaways, limited-time offers, stock claims, scarcity claims, waiting lists, launch offers, bundles, free gifts, samples, loyalty incentives, referral rewards, and early-access campaigns must be honest, fair, and capable of being explained clearly to customers.

Third parties must not invent or exaggerate product availability, popularity, sell-out risk, delivery speed, customer demand, investment value, resale value, exclusivity, urgency, sustainability benefit, health benefit, safety benefit, cultural value, authenticity, provenance, security capability, or country-of-origin claims.

10. Reviews, Ratings and Testimonials

Murzo Group does not authorise fake reviews, misleading reviews, undisclosed incentivised reviews, review suppression, manipulated ratings, review swapping, review harvesting, review gating, AI-generated fake testimonials, competitor review attacks, or the transfer of reviews from one product, seller, location, batch, service, property, food item, clothing item, cultural object, or campaign to another in a way that could mislead customers.

  • Reviews used in Murzo Group-approved marketing should be genuine, relevant, fairly presented, and not edited in a way that changes their meaning
  • Third parties must not claim that a review, testimonial, case study, media reference, public figure reference, award, certification, or endorsement is connected to Murzo Group unless this is accurate and approved
  • Murzo Group is not responsible for review content, ratings, testimonials, claims, comments, or rankings generated or manipulated by third parties without written approval

11. Product and Industry-Specific Claims

Because Murzo Group operates across multiple sectors, extra care is required when marketing regulated, sensitive, technical, high-value, food-related, clothing-related, farming-related, security-related, property-related, design-related, cultural-property-related, import/export-related, or sustainability-related products and services.

  • Food, farming, ingredients, allergens, nutrition, health, shelf life, traceability, origin, batch, storage, and safety claims must not be created or changed without approval
  • Clothing, fashion, textile, care-label, sizing, composition, flammability, children's product, PPE, hygiene, sustainability, and ethical sourcing claims must not be created or changed without approval
  • Security, weapons, controlled goods, sensitive services, property, real estate, investment, antiques, cultural objects, provenance, export, customs, and high-value goods claims must not be created or changed without approval

12. Customer Data, Cookies and Direct Marketing

Digital marketing involving customer data, cookies, pixels, tracking, email, SMS, WhatsApp, telephone calls, social messaging, abandoned-cart messages, lookalike audiences, remarketing, customer matching, lead forms, profiling, or automated decision tools must be lawful, transparent, proportionate, and approved before use.

Murzo Group does not accept responsibility for unlawful data collection, scraping, unsolicited messages, spam, misleading consent, undisclosed tracking, dark-pattern consent flows, unlawful lead generation, or customer data misuse by third parties acting outside written approval.

13. Marketplace, Platform and Account Conduct

Marketplace and platform accounts must not be used to mislead customers about the seller, seller location, delivery origin, fulfilment method, customer service route, product condition, warranty, authorisation status, return route, batch, expiry date, product authenticity, stock ownership, brand ownership, or Murzo Group involvement.

Murzo Group may require takedown, correction, account suspension, link removal, reporting, platform escalation, or legal action where a listing, advertisement, account, reseller, affiliate, broker, contractor, or campaign misuses Murzo Group names, products, brands, content, logos, images, product data, customer data, certificates, safety information, or goodwill.

14. International Marketing

Marketing aimed at customers, businesses, regulators, public bodies, brokers, distributors, or platforms outside the United Kingdom must take account of local consumer, advertising, ecommerce, language, tax, customs, sanctions, political, product safety, food, cultural property, employment, data protection, and marketplace rules before launch.

No third party may assume that approval in one country, language, platform, currency, industry, or product category allows use in another. Murzo Group does not accept responsibility for unauthorised localisation, translation, political adaptation, cultural adaptation, tax wording, customs wording, legal wording, or product claim changes made without written approval.

15. No Reliance on Unapproved Statements

Customers, partners, suppliers, brokers, platforms, contractors, affiliates, regulators, and other third parties should not rely on any statement, advertisement, message, promise, pricing claim, discount, warranty, endorsement, political statement, product claim, or offer as being made by Murzo Group unless it appears on an official Murzo Group channel or has been confirmed by Murzo Group in writing.

Murzo Group may reject, correct, withdraw, or refuse to honour unauthorised statements, offers, warranties, discounts, commissions, claims, or commitments made by third parties, except where law requires otherwise.

16. Liability Position

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Murzo Group does not accept responsibility for loss, damage, complaint, penalty, platform suspension, customer dispute, reputational harm, political controversy, regulatory investigation, misleading claim, unsafe claim, data misuse, fake review, unlawful promotion, unauthorised discount, unapproved sales tactic, or third-party commitment caused by any marketing strategy, tactic, campaign, channel, person, seller, broker, contractor, affiliate, commission-based seller, reseller, agency, platform, or political activity that has not been directly approved in writing by Murzo Group.

Nothing in this policy excludes or limits liability that Murzo Group cannot lawfully exclude or limit, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, product liability that applies by law, fraud, fraudulent misrepresentation, statutory consumer rights, or any responsibility that cannot legally be excluded.

17. Evidence and Takedown

Where unauthorised marketing, misleading claims, fake reviews, political association, affiliate misuse, broker misconduct, customer confusion, platform misuse, or brand misuse is identified, Murzo Group may use proportionate evidence to assess the issue, request correction, refuse commission, suspend access, require takedown, notify platforms, contact customers, contact regulators, or take legal steps where appropriate.

18. Review

This policy should be reviewed periodically and when Murzo Group launches new online sales channels, regulated products, affiliate programmes, broker arrangements, marketplace accounts, international campaigns, subscription models, review tools, political-risk jurisdictions, or digital marketing technologies.
